The purpose of the Parent Newsletter is to inform parents of what is occurring inside their child's classroom. It is also intended to make parents become more involved and aware. Communication is a vital thing to have between parents and teachers, especially in today's world where parent's seem more involved now than ever. Parent's want to know what their children are learning (beyond what their kids tell them when they get home at the end of the day) and it is our responsibility as teachers to keep them informed. This is not the first newsletter I have been asked to complete so I was fine doing so, unfortunately it didn't upload on the page like I wanted however it is still very much available, all it takes is a click! Newsletters are also very useful as a way for students to be aware of what they are about to do in class and can be used as a reference throughout the year. Another idea which I heard (from a fellow classmate) is the idea of placing a calender on the back of the newsletter to give even more information of the subjects we will be covering and the dates we will be covering them on. I think a newsletter is a great idea, and even more so if possible through email. Email allows quicker sending of the newsletters and allows parents to respond just as quickly if they have any questions or concerns. Overall though a newsletter is a very useful tool to have inside the classroom.
